Dr Paul Barber, BSc (Hons) PhD

Dr Barber is a forest pathologist, remote sensing scientist and Founding Director of ArborCarbon specialising in the diagnosis, monitoring and sustainable management of vegetation. Paul has developed and used novel methodologies on most continents for the precision monitoring and measurement of vegetation since 2003, including high-resolution hyperspectral and airborne imagery.
Paul is also ArborCarbon’s Chief Pilot certified by CASA to fly remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) to 25kg RePL Licence No. 836558. Paul is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Murdoch University where he co-supervises several PhD students. He sits on the Management Committee of the ARC ITTC CubeSats, UAVs and their Applications (CUAVA) of which ArborCarbon is the major industry partner. Paul has been a Board member of Trillion Trees since 2014, a not-for-profit organisation who has planted more than 15 million native trees and understory to improve biodiversity, combat salinity and soil erosion.
